Atlantic Aviation teams with 4AIR for 100% SAF Book & Claim at NBAA-BACE

Denver / October 4, 2022 – Atlantic Aviation and 4AIR will be advancing their commitment to sustainability at this year’s NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (BACE) by offering a Book & Claim program for customers arriving at Atlantic’s FBOs at Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). All Jet-A offered for purchase during NBAA-BACE at Atlantic Aviation’s ORL and MCO locations will be Book & Claim SAF gallons – and there will be no premium charged for these gallons as the program is being underwritten completely by Atlantic Aviation.

4AIR will provide accounting and verification of claimed SAF purchases and will supply customers with emissions reductions receipts as SAF gallons are dispensed during NBAA-BACE using their SAF Delivery Receipt program developed in conjunction with NATA. The receipts will summarize key sustainability information and provide traceability through the book and claim process, ensuring only one user can claim the environmental benefit of the fuel.

Book & Claim is a transactional process which gives fuel purchasers the option to buy or “claim” SAF that is not physically available in their geography but can be consumed elsewhere (or “booked”) without its sustainability attributes by another purchaser. The purchaser of the SAF gallons receives credit for the environmental impact of the renewable fuel that is dispensed as a drop-in fuel elsewhere in the world. This unique program eliminates the significant environmental impact of physically trucking in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from west coast refineries for the show, while still allowing customers to realize the environmental benefit associated with SAF when they make their fuel purchases.

“When we considered trucking SAF the roughly 2,800 miles from West Coast refineries to Orlando for the show, we realized doing so could be considered somewhat disingenuous, as any environmental benefit from the SAF received would be negatively offset by diesel emissions from the trucks that brought it” said Brian Corbett, Chief Commercial & Sustainability Officer at Atlantic Aviation. “Partnering with 4Air on this unique Book & Claim program provides a much more intelligent and effective solution, and further ensures our commitment to promoting sustainable aviation continues in the best possible ways.”

Atlantic currently offers continuously available SAF in Aspen, Colorado (ASE), Thermal/Palm Springs, California (TRM), and San Jose, California (SJC). And, in an addition to ORL and MCO, Atlantic Aviation offers Book & Claim via AvFuel contract fuel at its locations in ASE and SJC, with additional locations coming online soon.
