Embraer Executive Jets and 4AIR have partnered to help you begin your sustainability journey.

Embraer Executive Care + 4AIR

Aviation is responsible for a little over 2% of global emissions, and business aviation 2% of all aviation emissions. Despite being a small portion of global emissions, jets can still be a carbon intensive way to travel. Embraer and 4AIR have partnered to help bring sustainability solutions to your flying in a turnkey manner.

Today, the primary opportunity to reduce your footprint from flying is through the purchase of carbon offsets. Carbon offsets reduces emissions elsewhere which can be claimed against your own carbon footprint.

For customers joining the Embraer Executive Care (EEC) program, the first 25 hours of your flying will be offset 100% with 4AIR - meeting the 4AIR Bronze: Carbon Neutral rating.

 What are carbon offsets?

A carbon “offset” or “credit” is the verified avoidance or capture of one metric ton of carbon dioxide (usually denoted as mtCO2) from the atmosphere. Under a verifying body, the emission reduction is certified under a number of criteria and each metric ton is assigned a credit ID number corresponding to the verification body.

Once claimed, the credit is retired in the public registry, ensuring that each reduction can only be claimed once. When purchasing an offset, you are purchasing a specific credit ID number and the right to retire/claim its associated reduction.

What carbon offsets does the Embraer program support?

Brazil Wind (VTRM Renewable Energy)

VTRM Renewable Energy is a grouped project that consists of wind power plants (WPPs) in Brazil that will supply clean electricity to the Brazil National grid. WPP reduced greenhouse gas emissions by replacing electricity generated from fossil fuels.

India Solar (Grouped Solar Projects)

A group of multiple small and large scale solar PV plants in India. The grouped project generates renewable power which otherwise would have been generated from fossil fuel-fired power plants.

Forest Protection (Mai Ndombe)

The Mai Ndombe REDD+ project protects 300,000 hectares of critical bonobo and forest elephant habitat within the Congo Basin while helping address the basic development needs of 180,00 remote people with little to no access to basic services.

NOx Abatement (Ascend)

Ascend, the largest fully integrated producer of Nylon 6 6 resin has developed a proprietary technology that captures and converts N2O emissions into usable nitrogen and oxygen. N2O is a greenhouse gas with a warming potential 298x worse than CO2. The captured N2O will be converted in nitric acid and used in the production of adipic acid.
